For music lovers, it may have been a surprise to hear Madonna’s Like a Prayer in the trailers for Deadpool and Wolverine. The former Material Girl doesn’t often let movies or TV series feature her music, but Deadpool and Wolverine will be one of the few exceptions. Now, director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds have shared the story about how they convinced Madonna to let them use her song.

A new Twisted Metal game is in development, according to a report from reporter Jeff Grubb that was backed up by VGC’s sources. Grubb said on the latest episode of GameSpot sister site Giant Bomb’s GrubbSnax that a new Twisted Metal game is in early development alongside the new TV show from the writers of Deadpool.

“I think Twisted Metal is in the works but it may still be a ways off, so I think we’re early,” Grubb said, via VGC.

The game may or may not show up during the PlayStation Showcase today, September 9, Grubb said. He added that Twisted Metal creator David Jaffe, who has since left PlayStation, is likely not involved in the rumored new game.

It remains to be seen which studio might be working on the new Twisted Metal game, if it is indeed real and happening. …

Square Enix has announced the dates and times for the Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier’s closed beta test, but a lot of prospective SOLDIERs may feel left out if they’re playing on an iOS device.

The beta test will take place June 1st through June 7th, with sign-ups beginning May 7th here. The beta will be available only on the Google Play store in the US and Canada, while Japan will be able to play the beta on both Android and iOS devices.
